Doubourg Print, Arrival at Brandenburgh House of the Watermen with an address to the Queen.

A busy and colourful original engraving, entitled  “Arrival at Brandenburgh House of the Watermen with an Address to the Queen (Caroline).  In 1795, the Regent and future King, George IV, had married Caroline of Brunswick.  The marriage was far from happy and during this Regency Caroline lived in Italy. On the accession of King George IV she hastened back to England to claim the honors due to herself as Queen.  Picture condition is good but has browning to the outside of the marjin and one small tear at the top left hand corner and one at centre bottom slightly going into picture, the price reflects this.   Payment BY BANK TRANSFER … please enquire
